But when one massive feline named Theodore Scritches McWiggles strutted into a Texas vet’s office, even the staff had to do a double take.
A Cat So Big He Needed Two People To Hold
Maine Coons are known as the gentle giants of the cat world, often weighing between 13 and 25 pounds.
But Theodore – affectionately known as “Scritch” – has taken that title to the next level.
At a jaw-dropping 33 pounds, he’s a living, purring bundle of fur that looks more like a small lynx than a house cat.
In a now-viral TikTok shared by his owner, Tonna Michelle, Scritch can be seen at the vet’s office, his luxurious mane spilling over her arms as she tries to hold him up.

It’s a struggle – and an adorable one at that.
One commenter joked that he looked like “a fluffy sack of flour,” while another swore he resembled “a fur throw come to life.”

Despite only being on TikTok for about a week, the Texas-based Maine Coon has already gathered thousands of followers.
Fans can’t get enough of his size, his calm personality, and his stunning lion-like coat.

At three years old, Scritch is considered a full-grown Maine Coon, and his size isn’t unusual for a European-style male of the breed.
Still, 33 pounds is exceptional even by Maine Coon standards, where the largest males usually top out around 30.

Scritch’s owner says he spends most of his days lounging indoors, with the occasional supervised outdoor adventure in his fenced yard.
He’s not much of a climber – at his size, hopping fences isn’t really on the agenda – but he loves his yard time.
And true to his Texan roots, he’s proof that everything really is bigger in Texas.
Photos from his kitten days show that Scritch was always destined to be huge.
Even as a baby, his paws were nearly the size of a human palm, hinting at the gentle giant he’d grow into.
Now, those same paws make him look like royalty every time he stretches out for a nap.
