Peanut butter is high in fat and sugar – things cats simply don’t need in their diet.

Salted or flavoured peanut butters can also upset your cat’s stomach and lead to vomiting or diarrhoea. Because cats have smaller bodies and more sensitive digestive systems than dogs, even a spoonful can cause problems.

If you’re tempted to give your cat a little treat, stick with something made specifically for felines. Cooked chicken, tuna flakes, or vet-approved cat treats are far safer and actually enjoyable for your pet.
