We’ve all got a favorite on-screen animal, right? Mines Hedwig from the Harry Potter franchise and yes, she’s included in this list. Let’s have a look at some of the most iconic TV and movie animals and maybe – just maybe – your favorite will feature!
1. Comet from Full House

Comet is a golden retriever with an adorable personality. He’s probably the most popular Tanner family member and he featured in many of the Full House episodes. In fact, he even had his own episode called “Comet’s Excellent Adventure.” I think he’s prompted many ‘mommy, can I have a dog like that?’ conversations over the years.
2. Dory from Finding Nemo

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. I don’t know about you, but the majority of Dory’s phrases live in my head… rent free! This Blue Tang fish was iconic because despite the many challenges she faced from a young age, she remained positive and optimistic. She had short-term memembery loss, which led to many comical and sad moments throughout Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. She’s one of the most relatable characters and her mantra must’ve helped hundreds of children and adults through challenges.
3. Bruiser Woods from Legally Blonde
Bruiser is the very stylish Chihuahua that belongs to Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde movies. He’s a pop culture icon in the dog world and he perfectly conveyed the film’s empowering feminine aesthetic. I mean, the little guy attended Harvard Law School sporting a pink and purple outfit!
4. Donkey from Shrek

You might have seen a housefly, maybe even a superfly, but I bet you ain’t never seen a donkey fly! Donkey, Shrek’s most loyal (and sometimes annoying) friend, is one of DreamWorks’ best creations. He’s energetic, funny, and he’s persistent. Oh, and he manages to fall in love with a fire-breathing dragon between all of the comical one liners!
5. Marcel from Friends

Marcel is a capuchin monkey, which belongs to the monkey type of the four different primates. Friends is one of the most popular sitcoms in the world, so I just had to find a way to include it. And Marcel is so iconic that he’s the perfect fit. He may be an unconventional pet and very mischievous, but he did provide some humorous moments in his appearances.
6. Donald and Daisy Duck from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

If anything, you probably expected me to add Mickey and Minnie to this list, right? Well, surprise! Donald and Daisy are my favorite animated couple because they’re a lot more relatable. They meet a lot of challenges thanks to their contrasting personalities. It takes a lot of effort for them to navigate between Donald’s short temper and Daisy’s glamorous and unbothered personality. All things considered; they’re one of the most recognizable animated animal couples.
7. Piglet from Winnie the Pooh

I could’ve (and should’ve) added the rest of the Winnie the Pooh animals. Eeyore, Rabbit, Tigger, Kanga, and Roo may be great, but it’s Piglet that’s been stealing hearts since 1926. He’s an anxious little pig with a big heart and even bigger ears. His fears are relatable, but what makes his character even more wholesome is the way that he overcomes them to stay loyal to his pals.
8. Baloo from The Jungle Book

It’s the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities for me! Baloo is a cuddly sloth bear that lovingly and cheerfully teaches Mowgli, a human child, to navigate and overcome the many obstacles of the jungle. He’s fun-loving, easygoing, carefree, and he doesn’t sweat the small stuff.
9. Eddie from Frasier

Next, we have Eddie, the relatable Jack Russel Terrier from Frasier. He’s so iconic that he actually receives more fan mail than some of Frasier’s human cast members. He’s a clever and somewhat stubborn little guy that was particularly loyal to Martin and had a strained relationship with the show’s main character, Frasier.
10. Dexter from Night at the Museum

Capuchin monkeys are clearly pretty popular TV animals. Dexter is a playful and almost chaotic monkey that frequently comes in the way of the main character, Larry, who is portrayed by Ben Stiller. He provides some hilarious scenarios and ensures that there’s more than enough comedic antics going around. There’s no Night at the Museum without Dexter.
11. Buck from Married with Children

Just like the Tanner family, the Bundy family also has a furry guy that adds some excitement and comics to their everyday life. He’s a lazy and sarcastic guy that doesn’t think twice before he criticizes his human family members in his internal thoughts. To add to the comic layer that he adds to the show, his sexual antics and libido frequently caused some interesting, exaggerated situations.
12. Sebastian from The Little Mermaid

Sebastian, a hermit crab with a not-so-hermit personality, is a legend in the animated world. His character makes it clear that some freshwater crustaceans make great pets because he’s all a fish girl could ask for. As if his personality wasn’t enough, the creators also decided to add a Jamaican accent to his character, and it couldn’t be more perfect. Oh, and what a great singer he is!
13. Garfield and Odie from Garfield

Their rivalry isn’t as popular as Tom and Jerry’s, but they’re legends in the on-screen animal world. Garfield is an icon himself, but I think poor Odie, the carefree Dachshund and Beagle mix, finally deserves some shine. He’s been dealing with Garfield’s not-so-fun personality since the original Jon comics came out in 1976. Maybe he should check out our list of ways to deal with an angry cat.
14. All of the Looney Tunes Animals

From a Tasmanian devil and a rooster to a canary and a pig, Looney Tunes is all about the iconic animals. Not to mention the amount of bizarre support animals that feature in this messy, yet entertaining show. Bugs Bunny, the main character, needs to introduction and he even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Did you know he has appeared in more films than any other cartoon character? Then, there’s Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird, Speedy Gonzales, Daffy Duck, Porky the Pig, and the list goes on.
15. Elvis from Miami Vice

Miami Vice is iconic enough as is, so did they really have to go and take it up a notch with a pet alligator? Of course they did! Elvis is Sonny Crockett’s scaly pal that adds to the show’s flashy luxurious style. He doesn’t do much, but he’s become an icon over the years.
16. Hedwig from Harry Potter

I told you that you wouldn’t make it through this list without coming across my favorite movie animal. Hedwig is a snowy owl from the Harry Potter franchise and the only owl that can be kept as a pet. She was Harry’s main and most loyal companion who provided comfort during his lonely Dursley days. She’s also the first connection that Harry has to the wizarding world, so she’s practically a symbol of his identity and entry into wizardry.
17. Rafiki from The Lion King

Rafiki is a Mandrill with a spiritual intelligence that very few possess. His advice may be cryptic sometimes, but it has made a lasting impact on many Lion King characters and even some viewers. His character appears right at the beginning of the first Lion King movie, which solidifies the important role that he plays.
18. Kermit and Miss Piggy from The Muppets

Who doesn’t know Miss Piggy and her beloved partner, Kermit the Frog? The Muppet Show wouldn’t be the same without this demanding, self-centered, and over-the-top pig. Neither would it be without the laid-back frog that deals with that personality. Their relationship has viewers hooked and they’re always on the hunt to find out what the pair are up to.
19. Scooby-Doo from Scooby Doo

Ruh-roh, looks like this list has come to an end. But first, there’s Scooby Dooby Doo. What kind of dog is Scooby Doo? He’s a Great Dane. What makes him special? His cowardly, yet endearing nature, his Scooby snacks, his clumsy size, and his goofy expressions.
